Club Owner Fined Thousands

Forty-two-year-old Calico Morgan, a club manager who was arrested and charged for breaching sections of the Town and Communities Act in Montego Bay, St. James last month was fined JMD 50,000 when he appeared in the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday, May 16.

Reports from the Montego Bay Police are that about 3:40 a.m., on Saturday, April 28 a team of officers responded to reports of loud music being played in the town centre beyond the specified time under the Act. On their arrival, the team located Morgan, the manager of the club. He was taken into custody and charged under the Act for Failing to Close Club Within the Specified Time.

He pleaded guilty when he appeared in court on Wednesday, May 16.
