Over 2000 Pounds of Marijuana Seized in St. Elizabeth

June 26, 2018 –The Narcotics Police have made another major ganja bust, this time seizing over 2000 pounds of ganja in Calabash Bay, St. Elizabeth on Monday, June 25.

Reports from the Pedro Plains Police are that about 2:00 p.m., the Police Officers attached to the Area Three Narcotics Team conducted an operation on a beach in the community. During the search, over 50 bags containing parcels of compressed ganja were found in an abandoned boat. It is estimated that the drug would have fetched over JMD 10 million had it been sold on the streets.

No one was arrested in connection with the seizure, however, the investigation continues.
