Two Guns Seized Simultaneously

Lawmen seized two firearms and several rounds of ammunition in simultaneous operations in Trelawny and St. Andrew on Saturday, January 16.

During the first seizure, Police were on operation about 2:00 p.m., in the Granville area of Falmouth, Trelawny when an unoccupied building was searched and a 9mm pistol and a magazine containing three rounds of 9mm ammunition were seized.

Kingston Eastern Police Seize Guns

After topping the table in the Commissioner's 'Get The Guns' Campaign in 2015, the leadership of the Kingston Eastern Division said it was determined to maintain their lofty position. From all indications, they have remained committed to the measure, conducting several operations aimed at seizing illegal guns and ammunition since the start of 2016.

Those efforts have borne fruit, with the Elletson Road Police being responsible for the latest seizure in the Division.

St James Police Seek Help to Identify Bodies

The St James Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the bodies of two men that were found in the parish on Friday, January 15 and Saturday, January 16.

In the first case, the Montego Bay Police say the body of a man was found about 5:30 a.m. on Barnett Street in the parish on Friday, January 15. It is of dark complexion, slim build, 183 centimetres (6 feet) tall, and has dreadlocks. It also has a bald spot at the top of the head and is believed to be about 60 years old. It was clad in a green T-shirt, a green merino and blue underpants.

CISOCA Seeks Witness

Detectives attached to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a witness who is vital to a case that is currently before the court.

She is Trudian Clarke whose last known address is March Town district, Hanover.

Clarke is scheduled to appear before the St. James Resident Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, January 27.

Trudian Clarke or anyone knowing her whereabouts is being asked to contact the St. James CISOCA at 952-4997, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.

Tour Bus Crashes in Trelawny, Tourist Killed

Thirty-two-year-old Crystal Glewwe of the United States of America died as a result of injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle collision on the section of the North Coast Highway that passes through Carey Park in Trelawny on Thursday, January 14.

Cash Transaction In Excess of One Million Lands Two Men in Court

Detectives attached to the Westmoreland Proactive Investigations Unit charged two men for breaches of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) on Tuesday, December 29, 2015.

Charged are 35-year-old Omar Samuels of Barclay Street, Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland and Kenroy Griffiths of an unknown address.

Both men were nabbed following an investigation into a cash transaction conducted in Mandeville on August 4, 2015 in which Samuels used cash in excess of JMD one million to purchase a motor vehicle at car dealership operated by Griffiths.

Cops Seek Assistance To Identify Man's Body

The Hunts Bay Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating the body of a man that was found in Seaview Gardens, Kingston 11 on Wednesday, January 13.

The body, believed to be in its thirties, is of dark complexion, slim build and is about 180 centimetres (5 feet 11 inches) long. It was clad in a multi-coloured shirt and khaki shorts.

Four Escape from Police Lock-Up in Westmoreland

The Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating four prisoners who escaped from the Whithorn Police Lock-up on Wednesday, January 13. They are:


As the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) continues to empower youth and make schools safer through positive engagement, an electrifying eight-week disc jock competition was launched on Wednesday January 13 for high school students in partnership with Suncity Radio Station.

Fighting Crime with Rhymes’, a project of the JCF’s Community Safety and Security Branch, will give students the chance to shred crime and violence through the power of music on the wheels of steel.


Twenty-two-year-old Athena Francis and her daughter, six-year-old Latoya Wilson, both of Royal Flat district, Manchester who have been missing since Monday, January 4 have returned home and are in good health.
