St Andrew Central Division Names 'Top Cop'
Numerous impeccably dressed police officers turned out at the Police Officers’ Club in Kingston to receive awards- for outstanding service- this morning. The ceremony, which took the form of a Commanding Officer’s Parade, was hosted by the St. Andrew Central (S.A.C) Division under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Maurice Robinson.
The cops were awarded for firearm seizures, the arrest of wanted persons, maintaining law and order on our roads and going above the call of duty to achieve divisional objectives. Noteworthy is Constable Maurice Campbell who is battling a critical illness but was recognised for being ‘Hardest Worker’ for his exemplary service and dedication.
The award for most arrests went to Woman Corporal Millicent Sharp from the Half-Way-Tree Parish Court, who has made 25 arrests since the start of the year.
Also recognised was Detective Corporal Shawn Anderson, who was bestowed with the coveted title of ‘Top Cop’ for the S.A.C division and received a cash prize, a 32-inch television courtesy of Singer and the ‘Top Cop’ trophy.
The JCF congratulates the members who were awarded in this new thrust to build the confidence of our members and boost morale.
